Toy design requires exacting attention to detail, concern for child safety, and the ability to connect with your inner 5-year-old. I’ve been involved in every step of the process, including copywriting, package design, and product design for B. toys, Educational Insights, and Fisher-Price.
B. toys wanted to update their classic one-button remote controlled cars, so I designed new bodies meant to spark imagination. The remotes are meant to match their corresponding cars, and sized just right for little drivers.
B. toys is committed to recyclable and reusable packaging. I designed this box for the Ballyhoo, a big ball that holds five smaller balls. Once the ball is removed, the box can be used to keep track of small odds and ends.
I was the project manager for Youturns, a backseat-friendly steering wheel toy. My responsibilities included sewing cushion samples, designing the small car inside the toy’s screen (why not make it a convertible!?), and even choosing sound effects music.

Educational Insights came to me with an idea for an owl-based magnifier toy. I developed the character, and then, based on client feedback, designed the toy.
